Women’s Era: My request to all… “Must Read”

Nowadays, we are hearing a lot about women empowerment, feminism, right to equality etc. Before stating something, I would like to ask you all, no not “how are you?”, gone are the days when this was the basic question we used to ask. Here I am, with a whole set of new questions for you.

  1. Why being a woman we can’t take decisions for ourselves without being judged?
  2. Why only women have to pay a price to follow their heart & mind?
  3. Why women are barred from performing certain practices?

What happened? Surprised you are, I know. No need to be, afterall we are all living in women’s era. Thanks to women’s era, finally we have found our space, can u ever imagine !! Yes, we have got our space in questions. Bt unfortunately, we are still looking for another Einstein to answer them.

Even though women have proved themselves in every field of work, she still has to battle the odd prejudices. Social attitudes are hard to shake. Women need to know that real empowerment is from within. They must believe in themselves. Its imperative to have faith in yourself to battle it out. Feminism is about making decisions for ourselves without being judged. Don’t care about what people think. We are not here to prove anything to anyone in society. The big hurdle has nothing to do with skills & talent. Gracefully handle challenges. Believe in yourself. Never give up.

On my path of concerns, I have witnessed many women in my life who live with fear everyday due to social pressure. Our perceptions are often influenced by external realities. These realities may influence how women conceptualize their life. Often there is a perception that women are mandated by nature to live a life that revolves around her family doing basic household chores & thinking about anything else is bad. These all are stigmas associated with women, especially in some communities. I want women to realize their strength & break the stereotypes. Challenges are many but its ultimately your attitude that will make the difference. Women has a tremendous amount of power. She possess the ability to create as well as make a difference. In her, lies the seed of profound social transformation. You have equal rights. You don’t have to go & ask somebody! Do not wait for the power to be given. She sometimes forget the innate power they possess. We need women to come to forefront & take the responsibility. Your decisions in your life should be your own not pulled out of what someone else thinks is great for you. I want all the girls without exception to have that space for themselves where they have ample opportunities to be the women they wish to be.I wish more girls have the courage to pursue their dreams. You can do anything you want to as long as you have complete conviction & concentration in your beleifs.

Women are multitaskers, innately powerful, multi-faceted. They have the right blend of

  • strength with grace
  • courage with compassion
  • affluence with values
  • wisdom with vision

Your biggest strength lies in your emotions, feelings, motivation & inspiration.

Thank you for reading it patiently. Don’t just read “thinknact” as my blog says to you. Don’t waste time setting dress codes for women, abusing them, humiliating them, setting boundaries for them instead enourage them, support them. Their talent needs to be given wings. Give them the same freedom that men have enjoyed for so many years. Only then competition would be fair enough. Equal equal & then decide on your own who should dominate the world. Women can overcome differences & bring people of diverse natures together- she does it in her home all the time! Women can make this happen without getting stressed since qualities like softness, gentleness, compassion, nurturing instincts are inherent in them. Women can prove their worth in male dominant world by their work. Are men ready for that or they still want to continue living their life in “fear” of losing their dominance as they are doing since time immemorial. 😃

  3. Hi, thank you for inviting me to come over and read the post. I quite enjoyed it. I differ a bit in the way I think. I am not an active supporter of feminist movements. On the contrary, I think every woman needs to realize for herself that she is strong and can stand her own. A few feminists expressing their opinions on how strong other women should be is probably not going to lead us anywhere unless there is an initiative from within each woman to stand tall and own up to her life. And I am overly puzzled by the ‘need’for every woman or man to be an achiever in the conventional sense. I think everyone should be given the right to choose what kind of lives they want to lead. If taking care of the family and home is their choice, we must applaud them for it. And if they choose to earn their bread and succeed in a career, we must applaud that too. More than equality between man and woman, I advocate right of choice for both. 🙂

  4. Thank u for inviting to read your post.. beautiful written thoughts..

You are very correct when you said that the feeling should come from within. I ama self motivated individual, a working lady who handles both house and work. But there are so many times where in I surrender myself to many things against my will, coz at tat time I am not thinking just about myself. I have to consider about the people with me, that involves my kids as well.. that’s sometimes suffocates you… I am sure many would agree to such a scenario.

But then a new day come, a positive outlook takes over and life moves on..
