What we all have believed till date is that anger is a negative emotion, it’s a bad quality. But, have you ever thought what’s exactly there which is making it bad? Most of the people would answer it ‘No’.
First of all, let me clear you that nothing in this world is either good or bad. It’s all about our perception. The real problem lies there, not in getting angry.
How?? (That’s what my post title says to you all, Question it…)
Here, it is…
“Anger is an emotion. Emotions are a form of energy which in itself is neutral and we add meaning to them through our expressions.”
It’s all about learning the art of expressing the emotions. It’s your way of expressing that makes a specific emotion positive (i.e. good) or negative (i.e. bad). The only problem certain emotions like anger become a problem is because they are not properly dealt with. We call anger bad because of it’s usually bad outcomes. But if you’re showing anger for the right reasons and deals with the situation in the right way, then getting angry can be good for you. Without feelings of anger we wouldn’t take a stand against unfairness or injustice. Sometimes anger arises when we are concerned.
For better understanding, I would like to cite an example:
If you light a match to gasoline, it catches fire very easily and can be destructive too. But, we don’t stop using gasoline because of it’s destructive nature, instead of that we would be more careful while handling it. Anger is like gasoline, you only need to handle it carefully to make best out of it.
Emotions are feelings that don’t go away. Feeling anger is a natural part of being human. You only need to learn how to use this energy in the right direction. Anger is just anger. It isn’t good. It isn’t bad. What you do with it is what matters. You can use it to build or destroy. You just have to make the choice. It’s internal alarm that tells us something is quite wrong. So, next time you are feeling angry check in with yourself. Anger can be helpful emotion that prompts when it is needed. You can use it productively.
